Budakalász, 2015

Located in the most beautiful area of the town, the house overlooks the valley of the Majdán Creek. The building plan is the work of Attila Turi and his son, Gergő Turi. The client invited the designers to create a two-storey home with large pane windows. The resulting slimmer and taller mass is adjoined by a garden room with green roof. The façade is based on the principle of loss of material, while the verticality of the chimney, in a marginal position, is a unique mixture of generating and dissolving tension in the same time, aimed at achieving balance. Geometrically, the façade is asymmetrical yet balanced, resulting in visual symmetry.   This building is a great practical example for the Master's statement that "asymmetry is not the opposite of symmetry, but its subordinate system."
